Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s):
It is with great pride that I write this letter as the new principal of Williamstown High School. I am humbled to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a strong commitment to academics, athletics, and community. With almost two decades of experience in public education as a math teacher, school counselor, and school administrator, I have worked with students, families, and staff from all walks of life. My goal is to use the knowledge I have gained to work as your partner in education to prepare our students for success.
I believe that school culture is the single most important factor in the success of any school. Working to foster a positive environment where students and staff feel safe and motivated to work and learn together is my top priority. In addition to high academic expectations, we will promote positive character traits and social and emotional well-being to help our students become responsible and upstanding members of the community.
One of my favorite things about working in education is the opportunity to get to know members of the surrounding community. An African Proverb states, “It takes a village to raise a child;” therefore, frequent communication between educators and families is highly encouraged. Please look out for the details of “Coffee with the Principal,” which will be held multiple times throughout the year to allow for open dialogue with parents and community members.
I would like to thank you for the opportunity to serve in this capacity. I promise to give my all in helping your child reach his/her fullest potential, and I will fully support your efforts to do the same. We are in this together!
Sincerely,
Angelo DeStefano
Principal
