Business & Finance Academy Summer Seminar

Classroom lessons came to life this week as students in the Williamstown High School Business & Finance Academy spent three days exploring business, innovation, and entrepreneurship through hands-on experiences across the region.
The seminar kicked off with team-building challenges at Topgolf, where students learned that one of the company's greatest investments is its associates—a reminder that successful businesses are built on strong people just as much as strong ideas.

The following day, students visited Temple University's Fox School of Business to learn about the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Institute (IEI) before putting their creativity and teamwork to the test in a fun, fast-paced "Shark Tank" business pitch challenge. On the way home, the group also made a stop to support a local favorite, Nick's Pizza in Williamstown.
The experience concluded at Rutgers School of Business–Camden, where students participated in an interactive Business Bootcamp. Using LEGO® bricks as inspiration, they developed original business concepts while thinking critically about creativity, problem-solving, and entrepreneurship in a collaborative setting.

One theme carried through every stop: learning by doing. Whether they were building stronger teams, pitching new ideas, designing businesses, or hearing directly from professionals in the field, students were fully engaged throughout the week. The interactive nature of each experience made this year's seminar both meaningful and memorable.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this year's Business & Finance Academy Summer Seminar possible!
