MTPS Robotics Club Takes Learning to PSEG

On Thursday, August 6, members of the MTPS Robotics Club visited the PSEG facility in Sewaren, NJ, for a hands-on workshop and tour that gave students a look at how the skills they practice at Williamstown High School are used in the real world.

Students watched demonstrations of large machines that can precisely cut and create metal parts, along with 3D printers used to make components for important infrastructure. The visit also gave students a chance to see equipment similar to the smaller-scale tools and machinery they use in the WHS Maker Space.

One of the highlights was watching a metal emblem designed by Coach Spano being created right in front of them. The attending team members were then gifted a freshly made emblem of their own. It was a great opportunity for our students to see where hands-on design, technology, and problem-solving can lead beyond the classroom.
