Mystery Solved at WMS: Sister Act JR.

Posted Date: 11/04/26 (12:00 PM)

Four people dressed in nun costumes smile in front of a bulletin board for a production of Sister Act.

For weeks, Williamstown Middle School students had been trying to figure out the same thing: What will the 2027 spring musical be?

WMS Theatre made them work for the answer. Each core across all four grades received a riddle through the morning announcements, followed it into a scavenger hunt and learned one more show that would not be this year’s production. Little by little, the list of possibilities got shorter while the actual answer stayed under wraps.

By Halloween, the mystery was almost over.

There was plenty happening around WMS that day, too. Drama Club students took part in the annual special-effects makeup workshop, creating and showing off some very convincing wounds, while mummy activities added to the Halloween fun.

A collage of photos shows people participating in a special effects makeup workshop, displaying fake werewolf claw marks on their arms.

The final reveal came from the Drama Club advisors themselves. Dressed for the occasion in front of the auditorium bulletin board, they added a little “nun-sense” before making it official:

Sister Act JR. will be the 2027 WMS spring musical.

From here, attention turns to the stage. Sister Act JR. is scheduled for April 22–24, giving WMS students the next several months to bring the newly revealed show to life.
